Alexis Tsipras´ Blues

Alexis Tsipras´ Blues

“Pain is an event. It happens to you, and you deal with it in whatever way you can.”
Hugh Laurie

Hugh Laurie aka Dr. House for his role as the ultra-clever doctor in the TV series of the same name, was one of the first public figures to congratulate prime minister as he Alexis Tsipras as he became he's of the Greek government, Laurie, although a British man, is quite apt when it comes to playing good old US delta blues and the way things are going, as the Greek economy gets closer to failure, it might be the time for Laurie stat singing Alexis Tsipras Blues.

Uncertainty is a really infectious groove and it won’t be long for the European Union to start suffering the effects of Greece situation, propitiating markets to go down as fast as Elon Musk’s SpaceX ship, as people like to say, a chain is as strong as its weakest link, so let’s hope is not too late for the so called "troika" to come up with a good solution in order to help the Greek people, save the union and keep Europe together in a safe and peaceful way.

In the last few hours following monetary controls, Greek banks just closed in an attempt to preserve a few reserves and discourage investors from taking their money out of Greece, although this action might detonated a little late as investors massively retired their funds from the Hellenic country last week, leaving the country in a downward spiral hard to control and manage.

The important lesson to learn from Greece is a multiple scenario of things to come for Western culture, as corrupt governments became the roots of Greece economic situation and the rise of radical parties trying to achieve power through well-known populist proposals using people’s discontent with their political class, the results are unfortunately not too removed from Venezuela acute crisis, Tsipras going as far in the past as declaring himself an admirer of Hugo Chavez, Venezuela’s deceased ex-president, 21 century socialism ideology, sadly a deceptive mix of authoritarianism and populism masked as reformed socialism, this, could be an scenario for  lot of countries in South Europe, in South America and many places more, is a sign of a troubled economic system, braking the equilibrium in democracy, precisely in the place where it was born, is it finally a sign of Western decadence? Something must be done and we should learn the lesson here.

It's been almost two years since Greece and Tsipras Blues started to get known in the world, and as we all became a system interconnect globally it is impossible to assume that Greece failure won't affect the world economy as uncertainty makes markets volatile and nervousness upset investor, perhaps the solar will strengthen as a safe currency and countries dependent on external markets might suffer as the blues starts becoming infectious.

Greece and the Islamic State are two examples of today's procrastination world tendencies, as we have seen both phenomena grow and the world's governments have done little in order to act in a truly proactive way, we think that Greece or the Middle East are far from us, but as a global system, their misstep might just be ours too.

Tsipras is putting now the decision of leaving or remaining on the hands of the Greek people, a smart move that might upset European Union leaders, and investors, but it might wash Tsipras hands from the process and finally leaving the final decision to the people, it might not be wise, it might not be what is needed, but democracy might win in the end, even if it destructs itself in the process, precisely on the place where it was born.

Time and history will show us if Tsipras is wrong or right, anyway it goes Greece will show us in one single lesson to many things, the future of the left, of populism, of European Union, of Propaganda, of politics, and perhaps the future of the world as we know it.

For now, it might be toime for Greece to leave and end austerity in order to build istelf again, althought it might be a painful process, this is how it ends.
