The Pragmatic Castro Bros.

While Fidel loved the USSR model of communism, it was obvious that after the collapse of the Soviet System that path was not a good one to follow, a smart man, Fidel tried to create his own version of the Union of Socialist Republics of America, but prices of oil, just like in the USSR collapse, ended Fidel dream, so he choose to let his brother Raúl, a long time fan of the Chinese communist model took the wheel and conduct the fortunes of Cuba, Raúl wanted to put Cuba in the path of Chinese brand of semi open market economy, and just as China, keep the authoritarian rule, but precisely that style of rule started to subtract appeal to China, and the economic model was damaged, so the Castro brothers once again changed their vision and started looking after Singapore model, a small island without much natural resources,  and authoritarian government that integrated globalization to their economy in order to create economic growth, no wonder that now the Castro Brothers are closer these days to the USA, than to China or Russia.
