The Left Makes it Complicated
So now the Left Wing in Mexico has nearly defined it's political players for the 2018 presidential elections, with Andr茅s L贸pez (surprise!) running for the radical left party MORENA, and Miguel 脕ngel Mancera for the moderate left party PRD, it doesn't look probable that both parties will join forces, neither for the PRD to join forces with right wing party the PAN, Andr茅s L贸pez future is uncertain as MORENA's results in CDMX are nowhere to be seen, after suffering a defeat in Tabasco and with elections ahead in Zacatecas and Veracruz, which can reinforce or weaken his image, while Miguel 脕ngel Mancera image is not yet recovered after the environmental crisis in the Ciudad de M茅xico (CDMX), although the price for it should be shared by some of the previous left wing governments in that city.
Under this supposed scenario in the opposition, the divided attack perhaps won't be enough to defeat the official party, the corrupt PRI, and it contradicts a little bit Agustin Basave's president of the PRD, recent statement about moving towards the center in a joint venture or coalition with the PAN, the core of the PRD refuse to move forward towards Basave's proposed socialdemocracy, making it almost impossible for the opposition to top PRI's hard voting base and it's satellite parties that hold almost a 30% of the votes, a hard threat even for the best positioned potential candidates PAN's Margarita Zavala and MORENA's Andr茅s L贸pez.
