President Sánchez, or Pérez

“The United States has written the white history of the United States. It now needs to write the black, Latino, Indian, Asian and Caribbean history of the United States.”
Carlos Fuentes

I think I wrote about this issue a couple of years ago, four I guess, at the time when Barack Obama was looking for re-election, as always, there was this huge focus on the Hispanic sector in the USA; In the last decades, the Latinos have grown in order to become a big clue to the success of the Democrats in the presidential race, with Obama, it wasn't the exception, although you bet the Hispanic citizens of the USA weren't exactly benefited from Obama's reelection, as massive historic deportations were made during his two administrations.

Now, it's time for Hillary Clinton to ask for the Hispanic vote, after the apparent betray by Obama, it's going to be a tough decision for the regular voter, I think, that logically this time, the Latino population would turn their back on the Democrats as a way to punish Obama policies´ failure, the hard thing here, is that with a man like Jeb Bush as Republican candidate, it would be the obvious thing to do, even Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio could appeal to certain sectors of the Hispanic population, the problem here is called, you guessed it, Donald Trump.

Donald Trump, yes, the Wall guy and we are not talking about Roger Waters, we are talking about a man who kick started his campaign for the Republican nomination by claiming to be the one to build a big wall between Mexico and the USA, the man who thinks Mexico is cheating big on the USA, the one who thing Mexican migrants are murderers and rapist, the man who thinks he can bring back to the USA American factories settled in Mexico, a man who will surely send the Latino vote back to the Democratic Party without a second thought.

An Afro-American is about to leave the presidential office, a women could become the next president of the USA, again the Latinos, and specially the Mexico Americans are about to play a key role in the Democratic Party possible win, so I think that besides palying the "joker" or the wild card in the USA electoral poker, it's time for the voters of Mexican origins to really start organizing in order to get a better representation, not the fashionable Latino representation Hollywood gives us with Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria and Salma Hayek, is time for something else, something more transcendental within one of the political parties, if it wasn't for Trump, three Republican pre candidates could catch that sector of the population, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, they could have claimed some link to the Hispanic voters, if the Democrats really consider Hispanic population, specially Mexico Americans really a clue to winning the elections, this is the right time to start giving them a proper representation within the party, is time to start considering that after an Afro-American after a woman, is time for a Hispanic president of the USA, the British Laborist Party took a big step forward in the process of minorities integration by the nomination of Sadiq Kahn as a candidate for major of the city of London, it was a brave step, that´s the future, so it´s time, I guess, for the Hispanic to start demanding a Sanchez, a Perez or a Martinez to be the next to command the White House in the next years, and as Europe is struggling to integrate the Muslim world, America as a whole can start its own integration.
