I have heard too many times about Andrés López' “Alternative Nation Plan”, it really sounds now like a very boring cliché for Andrés fans every time they talk to me, "Have you read Andrés Alternative Nation Plan?, He has a Plan, nobody else have one?" it's great, a plan, cool! Chairman Mao also had a plan, a big plan, and that didn't prevented him from killing millions in China, in fact, I guess that was a part of the plan from the beginning, Stalin the Russian dictator, also had many plans, remember the gulags were dissidents were imprisoned? And the big purges? Those were part of the plan too.

The popular Alternative National Plan every Andrés López fan talk about wasn’t made in fact by Andrés López, it was created by a large number of members of the left wing in México, writers, historians, intellectuals, among others, it wasn't written by Andrés and is not a guarantee that if López reaches power, he will follow it, Do you know North Korea? The so called Hermit Kingdom is supposedly ruled by Juche, a political theory derivate form communism, developed also by intellectuals, most of them jailed, “purged” or killed, some other escaped from NK and asked for asylum in South Korea, Juche means nothing these days for the elite that rules NK, intellectuals' plans can be used to attract young followers, they often sound great, but normally great leaders or strongmen listen to none except  themselves, by the way, Hitler's Mein Kampf is sort of an Alternative National Plan isn't it?

So yes, I have read Andrés López sponsored Alternative Plan a couple of times, as a history lover, in fact, I find it very amusing, it is like most things coming from the left unfortunately utopic, I read it because I don't like to discuss about something I don't know or fully understand, and you know what? The Alternative Plan looks a lot like Lula Da Silva actions taken in Brazil, no surprise since it came from the same place and type of minds, the Foro de Sao Paulo, a forum of left wing political parties, left wing institutions, guerrillas and even terrorist organizations like Colombia's FARC, like what happened in Venezuela, the Alternative Plan suggests using oil in order to impulse development, it also calls for major increase in public spent, look at what happened in México in the 70s, a period in which Andrés was part of the PRI, the biggest populist political party in México, look at what is happening in Brazil, with Lula being investigated for corruption accusation and Lula's puppet president Dilma Rousseff suffering the lowest approbation in her administration after countless cases of corruption are being investigated, look at the disgrace happening in Venezuela... So the next time you want to talk about an Alternative Nation Plan, think twice, read it well and learn from history, it has already happened, and it all can happen again, I hope not.
