International Women´s Day
International Women´s Day

I'm sure is
not easy being a woman in this turbulent man's world, it's admirable the way
women has fought in order to achieve gender equality and make this world a
better place to be, from the hostile territories of the Taliban in Pakistan,
where a young Malala Yousafzai set an example standing against discrimination
and intolerance, raising her voice in defense of girls education at schools and
becoming an icon for women's right to get an equal chance to get education.
In the
center of Europe, a woman has stood up against intolerance, German chancellor Angela
Merkel has fought against radicalism, nationalism and discrimination in Europe
with intelligence, Merkel´s is a project of integration and globalization, one
to stand against Europe's intolerant, nationalist past that led to so many
bloody conflicts, Merkel has been at the front of Europe's project of migrant integration,
a hard task that has put the continent at risk of disintegration, but one that
if succeeds, could hold the key to Europe's future.
The USA
have experimented quite a few changes in recent years, Obama became the first
Afro-American president of the nation, and now, almost eight years after,
Hillary Clinton could become the first woman to be in charge of the White
House, Clinton's possible presidential campaign could achieve historical status
in what could be a race against potential Republican candidate Donald Trump
hate and intolerance campaign.
In the next
couple of years México could have again a woman running for the presidential
candidacy, Margarita Zavala, the potential candidate for right wing party PAN
has shown a strong acceptance on the national surveys, a possible realization of
her campaign could give México its first woman in Los Pinos presidential house.
Women are
undoubtedly changing the world, they have come a long way and struggled to
achieve a more prominent place in society, there are places where equality is better
achieved like in Sweden, and places where women are still treated really bad,
president Park Seun Hye has the enormous task of changing South Korea, one of
the lowest gender equality ranked country in the developed world, while president
Dilma Rousseff struggles in Brazil against a big corruption case against her
administration.
For the
love of our mothers, sisters and daughters we should all fight to make this a
better and more integrated place for everyone.
