Sacha Korn- Feuer (2016)

An exciting wall of guitars serves us as our brutal welcome committee on Feuer, the opening song to Sacha Korn's new record by the same name, but what sets apart Korn form other bands in the so called Neue Deustche Harte genre, is that Sacha is an individualist, and this record is about him and for him, so that gives him considerably more flexibility than his fellow German comrades Oomph!, as the tune transforms itself quickly into a full blast of modern metal featuring dissonant guitar lines, obscure passages and Sacha furiously desperate vocals.

Sacha Korn´s music is all about will and power, a well greased machine merciless marching on, and that's because the sound of this recording sitting comfortably close to the brutal riffing of say Rammstein, while keeping dispatching most of the near industrial elements characteristic of bands going for a more punkish sound like on the punishing Brennen.

On Sturm und Gewitter, Sacha again goes for variety, choosing to combining some militant sounding, that has Sacha in trouble after accusations of his closeness to the extreme right in Germany, but musically speaking, this approach shines with truly great guitar work into this brilliant piece of modern extreme music that lives up to Germany reputation of strong willed country.

Heavy Metal thunder peaks on Fauler Regen, an amazing song with devastating tempo changes that puzzles the listener at first, but ends up resulting really enjoyable for the heavy metal fan, as the groups wastes no time to unleash gut slashing riffs and bone crushing drumming.

After the initial attack, the band loses some momentum on some really pointless songs, but they come back in full vegance mode for Identitaet with more relentless drumming and ears piercing guitars, again the band introducing some interesting arrangements setting them apart from the industrial genre so popular in their country, this is obviously no Einsturzende Neubaten, nor Rammstein, but hey, way to heavy for Scorpions fans, just check out the heavy hitting Still, one of the record most intense pieces.

Sacha Korn sound might be a little more traditional than the average Neue Deutsche Harte, but is precisely that distance he takes from the movement that gives him the chance to create something that sounds way too different and originally, not classic metal, not hardcore punk, but something in between that is heavy and very well played and arranged that simply couldn't be ignored, as for politics, it’s better for Sacha to stick to music and put the extreme right tendencies, very far.
