Auto playing instruments

Yesterday, my daughter told me if it was valid to use a machine to play for you, I told her that if the machine made you better, it was OK, I told her about one of my favorite composers, Conlon Nancarrow, whose piano composition were impossible to play for a human being for along time, they required machines to be played, that until genius like the great Cecil Taylor or Matthew Shipp started to study them, or until a master of the instrument, like Ukrainian great Lubomyr Melnyk started to dominate the compositions, machine made it possible to hear Nancarrow, and they obviously helped Melnyk to achieve the impossible.
