When The Saints Go Marching In…

“I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.”

It’s been confirmed that Pope Francis will be visiting México in February 2016, 2016 surely will be a complex year in México one full of definitions and complicated situations, after the movements made by the government in order to ease done of the social pressures implicated with the federal elections of mid-year, 2016 will undoubtedly expose the true situation of the Mexican Economy and full effervescence for the 2018 presidential election will add turmoil to the situation, low oil prices, lower exports, and weak internal consume will become friction factors in society, and it isn't too adventurous to guess that Pope Francis visit in a way could be used for political purposes in order to calm down social unrest, just like it happened in 2013, when president Dilma Rousseff was on the ropes, and thanks to the Pope's visit and to a Soccer World Cup, Dilma had even the chance to win a new presidential election, two years later, Dilma's situation has just worsened and her government is on peril of a major criminal investigation.

Karl Marx said that religion is the opium of the masses, and The government might be thinking that the economy situation to be unveiled in 2016 might requires a lot of sedatives in order to appease unconformities, as society's purchasing power diminishes, the government's popularity is at its lowest and the political system is being questioned more and more.

Radical left wing leader Andres Manuel Lopez has made recently a fast and smart movement about all this, he went on a tour to Europe and visited the Pope, his photo with Francis quickly made the news headlines, Who can deny Andres outsmarting the government with this little trick? I thought the left wing was rather suspicious about religion, but nowadays the left wing has learned a lot from dictators like Pinochet and now "socialist" dictators like Fidel Castro, Evo Morales and Rafael Correa look for the Pope approbation as a politics tool, Why not Andres Manuel? It helps when you are desperate for votes and for a "social Democrat" image although in reality you are a "closet Marxist" and a populist.

Andres Manuel is not the only desperate character looking for the Pope unction, as the chamber of deputies and the senate had an intense fight in order to get a visit from the Pope just as the one Francis did in the U.S., now, it seems that Francis is busier making politics rather than saving souls, I guess he will have to consider making a "political world tour" and let the Vatican rot from within, as it results ridiculous that unscrupulous politicians think that in order to clean their image in front of society, Why don't they consider instead to tone down corruption?
