Let´s Unblock Ai Weiwei
“If my art has nothing
to do with people's pain and sorrow, what is 'art' for?

Art
imitates life, but very often is life which ends up imitating art, life always
finds a way to keep on going like an ever flowing stream, you can't stop life,
not even Hiroshima, Chernobyl or Katrina could stop life, and like life, you
can't stop art.
You can
call whatever you want Mr. Ai Weiwei, the controversial and world famous
Chinese artist and disident, once owner of a very well-known blog, shut down by
the Chinese censorship board, but don't call him uncreative, because he has
found a quite interesting way to solve his current troubles with Danish toy
maker Lego, it seems that Weiwei will have the last laugh this time.
In the
recent Democrat candidates’ debate, so called socialist Bernie Sanders named
Denmark as a good example of how the U.S. should be managed, I hope Mr. Sanders
didn't consider the Danish Lego company as exemplary, as they have recently got
in trouble with Weiwei in what seems to be a case of corporate censorship and
something else, given the fact that casually Lego is about to close the
negotiations to open a thematic park in China.
Chinese
artist Ai Weiwei has been under harassment in his own country, his criticism
against the communist party has put him in several troubles, even landing him
in jail for a time and being denied permission to leave the country.
Ai Weiwei
current project involves Lego blocks, and lots of it in order to create a large
figure, ironically, the Danish native company manufacturer of such blocks, has
denied direct involvement in Weiwei's project, even refusing to supply the
famous blocks pretended to be bought by Weiwei, declaring a company policy to
stay away from “politics”, ironically "blocking" Ai Weiwei creative
venture, coming from a company that incentives creativity, is sad that Lego
reacted that way, but sometimes money matter more than persons to some people.
But as you
can't stop life, you can't stop art, and Ai Weiwei fans all over the world
responded enthusiastically to Weiwei's demands, supplying the artist with tons
of Lego blocks in order for him to go ahead with his project, power of the
people and another corporative defeat, better think of other place as an
example Mr. Sanders, congratulations Ai!
