Entrepreneurs, Influencers and the End of the Free Market
Entrepreneurs, Influencers
and the End of the Free Market

More than
20 years ago I had my first class of "entrepreneurship", at that
time, talking about "entrepreneurship" or "entrepreneur"
was a concept almost "from another planet", few understood, and it
would take more than two decades for it to becoming something essential in our common
day lives, without a doubt the dynamic of employment has changed in the world,
jobs are no longer forever, or “for life”, as before, when my father talked
about working more than 30 years for a company , today I am glad to hear the
kids say that they want to start and have a business of their own, something that
my father, always with ideas very ahead of his time, always dreamed of, well,
today it would seem that entrepreneurship has become fashionable , and it is,
in the minds of the new generations, so logically, the weight of an
entrepreneur would be part of the charm that would lead him to the presidency
of the most powerful country on the planet, that is, I speak of Donald Trump,
who as matter of politics, to me is a nefarious character, but reflecting the
era after all, Trump has become an icon of the modern entrepreneur, with a
presence 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with an impeccable development of a
“personal brand”, it is impossible not to keep in mind and always be aware of
what Trump does every day, his handling of Twitter, as a means of direct
communication and its management as his means of advertising and marketing, and
his very personal application of their negotiating style, they undoubtedly make
Trump, the quintessential entrepreneur of our day, one very much like people
like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg, one determined to crush the
competition in order to become a preponderant agent not in its sector or
industry, but globally.
In recent
years, the word "influencer", like that of "entrepreneur"
has become part of our everyday language, so we see various characters using
media such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, among others , in order to
grow their “personal brand”, achieve loyal followers and thus influence the behavior
of these followers, which although it would seem a kind of guerrilla tactics,
it is actually a sign of today's “savage capitalism”, so young people today,
may feel very wise to ignore and reject old advertising media such as ads on
television, but fall "round" to the influence of these young internet
stars, who discreetly backed by large corporations, create "markets" for
products and services such as tourism, the clothing industry, the video game
industry and beauty products, young people no longer believe in n the old
television commercials, but they respond without questioning the
recommendations of the “influencers”, and if we talk about influence, personal
brand, the use of guerrilla media and tactics, we could talk about today's
major “influencer”, President Vladimir Putin, who seems to be the great winner
by creating a "personal brand" and exerting a great influence on the
events that are presented today, thus we have seen Putin, effectively and
without much budget, He has managed to benefit, without being his country a
world power, and position himself in a favorable way in a world that seems to
lack greater personal leadership, so we have seen how Putin strongly influences
the geopolitics of our “post-neoliberal” world, so we see as other rulers seek
to implement tactics of "Putinism" and like many young people without
much preparation, they see Putin as the "ideal leader" they would
like for their country, Russia falls apart, but Putin manages to create an
"image" that runs a global power, even suggesting that he controls
Donald Trump, like an "influencer," Putin has been responsible for
creating an "environment" for his "product" In this way,
many young people see in their model of authoritarianism, as the ideal to govern,
while growing their contempt for democracy, that is, Putin is the greatest
“influencer” of our times, while he can maintain his image, will remain.
Brexit is
already imminent, the sad departure from the United Kingdom (which may no
longer be “united”) from the European Union, triggered by a referendum, a
popular instrument of populism, Brexit will be remembered as the beginning and
end of an era , the end of the era of Free Market and Globalization and the
beginning of the era of Accelerated Protectionism and the Commercial War, with
a "savage capitalism" unleashed by characters such as Donald Trump,
Vladimir Putin and Xi Jingping, in this way , we enter a new era of
entrepreneurs at the forefront of countries, and their trade wars to achieve
maximum preponderance, an era of “influencers” who seek to create a new reality
thanks to the Internet.
